Oven Odyssey is our passion for pleasing the palate expressed on a plate - or in a box or under a dome or right out of the oven or off the grill. Our sister used to say we eat with our eyes first, so presentation is as important as flavor, texture, price and aroma. Come along with us as we experiment, create, succeed and fail on our journey to discover new favorites and flops and we enjoy the trip together.
Oven Odyssey uses locally sourced produce grown in our garden, and farm fresh eggs from our chickens. Spring brings us strawberries, raspberries, and plums and later blueberries then apples. We purchase honey from a local producer to use in the granola made from Quaker oats, canola oil, pepitas, almonds and pecans.
From Mom's recipe box, these cheese straws are made with love! Using her recipe and cookie press and her step-by-step process, these crispy chewy cheesy strips are great for watching the game or enjoying all alone curled up with a good book, they're worth the guilt from not sharing!
